Pacífico is the most affordable and practical neighborhood in the Retiro district. It serves as a major transport hub (Atocha is nearby) and is filled with traditional local commerce and 'everyday' Madrid life. It’s much more unpretentious than its northern neighbors. The trade-off is that it feels more 'urban' and dense, with fewer of the tree-lined boulevards that define the rest of Retiro.
